Hello Inklings! I'm finally back with a post (it's been such a long time), so here's a little life update, sort of a What This Week but more of a What These Months.
Reading:
As you may have seen on my Instagram stories, I finally finished Mexican Gothic and I enjoyed it a lot. I loved Noemì and the eerie vibes of the story. I'm currently reading Vevin Song and Falene and it seems like I'm out of the reading slump! I hope so cause there are so many books in my TBR this spring and I'm looking forward to reading Mo Dao Zu Shi and Once Upon a K-Prom.
Watching:
I've been obsessed with Dramas for a year now, even though I don't have much time for TV. They're so good! I recently finished Hwarang and my first rewatch of A Time Called You (cause I needed to make my sister watch it and be able to talk about it). And I'm loving My Demon, I hit the midpoint the other day and dread what is going to happen. I'm also finally watching The Witcher with my dad and sister (we're on season 3) and I'm slowly going through Gilmore Girls. It's my first time watching it... I know, now I understand why so many people love it! I also just started Forecasting Love and Weather and it's already so cute (though I want to punch one of the characters so bad... two actually). Next, I plan to watch Hazbin Hotel cause it seems I'm the only one who hasn't yet.
Listening:
I'm on a bit of a hiatus with audiobooks except for the ones I'm listening to with Alice. We enjoyed the first 4 books in the Spirit Animals series so much! But she dropped the 5th one because it was too scary (honestly, I'm surprised she managed those 4 because they deal with some dark and heavy topics I wasn't expecting). So, we switched to Sophie Kinsella's Mummy Fairy and Me series and she is loving it.
I've also been listening to K-Pop a lot. A LOT. I have so many things to catch up with, it's a new world for me but I'm slowly learning.
Life:
I still can't believe Alice is now 7 years old. Where has the time gone?! She's growing up so fast! We've been enjoying the first signs of spring lately and I can't wait to have mum and daughter picnics again. It was also my father's birthday this month (he's 81 now, but he still looks like a 50-something hehe) and the anniversary of my mum's death. It still feels weird that they're just a day apart. I miss her so much.
Doing:
Last September I started learning Japanese on Duolingo. I had already tried years ago but I never managed to keep going. So, I'm super proud of being on a 150+ day streak! I've always loved languages and I hope I'll be able to study many of them in the years to come. My goal is to learn Japanese, then Korean, and then Chinese. I also love Brazilian Portuguese.
On another note, I began working out at home. I've been meaning to do this for years and finally implemented it into my routine. The first week my muscles were begging for mercy ahahaha, but now I'm looking forward to it every morning.
So, this came out longer than expected! Overall, life is good, I'm happy, always tired since I mastered the art of falling asleep seated (but now that I'm a pro it seems counterproductive to go back to sleeping properly), and I can't wait for Spring to actually bloom!
What have you been up to lately? What are you reading/watching/listening to?
I hope you have an amazing week! 💗
